From “Just Posting” to a Strategy: Our Marketing Journey at AakiTech
At the start of 2024, marketing at AakiTech did not have much of a roadmap. We were putting content out into the world but without clear goals, campaigns or a way to measure if it was working. It felt reactive; doing what we thought marketing “looked” like. A year later, we have gone from that uncertainty to an evolving strategy we are proud of. This is the story of how we got here, what we learned along the way and why starting small matters.

Starting Point: No Strategy, Just Content
In the early days, our marketing efforts had no real structure. We were posting without any defined key performance indicators, campaigns, or targets. It was not that the content was meaningless but there was no guiding plan to tie it together. We were reacting to the moment rather than working toward a bigger picture.
The First Shift: A Twelve-Month Strategy
The turning point came when we decided to create our first twelve-month marketing plan. It was not perfect, we were still missing key performance indicators and short-term milestones, but it gave us something we had never had before: a shared direction. Suddenly, we could align our work around a common vision.
Learning the Power of Short-Term Goals
That plan gave us a destination, but not a clear map for the everyday. The next lesson came when we broke the twelve months into three-month campaigns and monthly goals. This shift brought much-needed focus. With shorter timelines, it became easier to know what needed attention now, and what could wait.
Tracking, Reflecting and Adjusting
Having goals meant little if we did not track them, so we introduced regular marketing check-ins. These became our moments to pause and ask: What is working? What is not? Are we still on track? Even when the results were not perfect, measuring against campaign plans and being willing to adjust made us more accountable and intentional.
The Realisation: Strategy Does Not Mean Going Viral
One of the most grounding lessons was this: having a strategy does not guarantee viral success. And that is okay. A strategy is about building a repeatable, adaptable process that works for you. If a post goes viral, great but the real win is knowing why something works and being able to do it again.
Progress Worth Celebrating
Looking back, we have gone from “let us just post something” to building structured campaigns, hosting regular check-ins, tracking key performance indicators, and having a much clearer sense of direction. It was not an overnight change, but the habits we have built are already paying off.
Closing Reflection
The biggest win is not that we have “figured it all out”, it is that we have built something we can grow and refine over time. For any early-stage team: do not wait for the perfect plan. Start small. Stay flexible. Build as you go.
